Project Details
A flat roof with northern lights was replaced with new steel structure and pitched roof.
Our client had a building with a flat roof and northern lights. To increase capacity of the building the project involved replacing existing with a new steel structure and the addition of a pitched roof.
The existing building was constructed from an asbestos deck with a plywood & felt covering, the rooflights were glazed and had an asbestos covering to the roof and the side walls, all supported by a steel structure.
These were removed in sections to allow the erection of the mezzanine floor and steelwork within the building which was then clad with twin skin sheeting to allow works to continue within the store during the refurbishments.
By increasing the capacity of the building through the introduction of a mezzanine floor the building now provides much needed extra space.
