Overclad of Warehouse Roof and Solar Panels near Birmingham

Power Warehouse is a leading supplier of electrical equipment and components in the region. With a facility spanning over 2000m2, the warehouse serves as a crucial hub for distribution and storage of electrical supplies to various industries. However, over the years, the warehouse faced challenges due to an aging roof, which led to leaks and energy inefficiency.

The Managing Director of Power Warehouse approached JDB Refurbishments to conduct a survey and provide a quotation with our recommendations. An overclad was suggested, with the removal of the existing solar panels, which would be reinstated after the entire roof had been refurbished.

Within weeks of our proposal JDB were on site, after approval from our structural surveyor for the additional weight, JDB started the installation of edge protection scaffolding, safety netting and reassurance air tests by UKAS accredited lab technicians. Original rooflights were replaced prior to the new roof tier being installed, over Euroclass A1 insulation, followed with a plastisol coated steel sheets in Goosewing Grey.

The successful overcladding of Power Warehouse’s roof shows the transformative impact of strategic refurbishment initiatives. By addressing longstanding challenges, the project delivered tangible cost savings and operational efficiencies.
