A client with a 11,000m2 unit was interested in improving their building fabric, they had purchased the building 20 years previously and the roof was in need of a full refurbishment. After our initial survey an overclad was decided would be the best option, with replacement rooflights to improve the natural lighting.
Installation of an overclad for an existing asbestos roof, improving the building’s thermal performance by introducing additional insulation, as well as offering a 25 year manufacturer’s warranty on the new roof sheets, and then the reinstallation of the original solar panels after we had given them a clean and refurbishment with a hydrophobic coating. to ensure optimum performance.

When we were first approached by a company in Ipswich they thought that to replace their entire roof it would be too costly. Their call had been in regards to an overclad, as they had heard that this type of refurbishment might be a bit more budget friendly.

Following an in-depth, free survey JDB agreed with the client that patch repair works should be undertaken, to leak areas identified before and during the project.
JDB operatives applied liquid coatings to the most vulnerable areas within each location, such as laps and upstands, and joints in ducting were sealed with sealant where deemed necessary.
Hewens Academy Trust contacted JDB due to many classrooms being out of use due to water ingress. Their requirements were permanent solution that could be installed properly throughout the summer holidays; a warranty; and a system that had the manufacturer’s backing.
JDB Roofing provided a specification of a Protan EXA 1.5 adhered system which would give our client a 20-year manufacturers-backed warranty, also with the reassurance of the membrane being approved and tested by the British Board of Agreement.
Works included removal and disposal of existing asphalt waterproofing and stramit board insulation to reveal structural deck. This was then waterproofed with Self Adhesive VCL, 120mm PIR and Danosa 1.5mm Daonpol+ HS membrane mechanically fixed to deck.
We were contacted by a client who was looking to make their building watertight through refurbishment. Their business, which still operates from the same site as when it first opened in the 1960’s, had grown and expanded over the last 4 decades and now needed attention.
Express Glazing were experiencing water ingress across their building, and were seeking a contractor to assist in their refurbishment.
After conducting a free survey, JDB’s recommendation was to overclad the building. This would not only solve the issue of water ingress but would greatly improve the buildings aesthetics.
A 2600m2 food store was in urgent need of encapsulation. The roof was failing and it was a necessity to get it watertight.
On initial survey JDB identified severe cut edge corrosion throughout and a coating system was deemed the most cost effective and appropriate way of increasing the longevity of the roof.
JDB Industrial Roofing were asked to help Carlsberg with the problem of edge peel back and lap joint corrosion on their coated steel roof at their Northamptonshire distribution centre.
